We’re all too familiar with the effects of humid weather on our skin. It can make it oily, which leads to breakouts and blackheads. Don’t get weighed down

Clean, clean, clean. This is not the time to skip makeup removal on a Saturday night or give your skin a day off. Take preventative measures. One of our favorite tips for when you are spending the day outdoors, at the beach or in the mountains, is to carry pre-moistened vitamin-C enriched cleansing cloths with you. Use them two or three times a day, and don’t forget to reapply your sunscreen frequently.

If your skin isn’t too sensitive, choose a cleanser with salicylic acid for an extra cleaning boost to make sure all of the day’s damage gets wiped clean. If you’ve got sensitive skin, try using the salicylic acid cleanser just a few times a week.

Moisturize

Make sure your skin is getting enough good, healthy moisture. It may seem odd that you need to moisturize your skin that is already suffering symptoms due to extra water in the environment, but it is very important. If your skin is happy and healthy and fully moisturized, it’ll be less susceptible to the damaging impacts of pollen, pollution, and dirt that can build up. Think of moisture as your skin’s number one defense, whether the weather is super humid or very dry.

Get a facial

We know, we say this all the time. But in humid weather, you are more prone to overheating and dehydration. Stay out of mid-day sun, and be sure to always have water with you when you’re out and about.
