When you leave Skin MB, Nashville’s top MedSpa, your skin is going to look and feel fabulous. But it doesn’t matter how great you look and feel after a facial or MedSpa treatment, you can’t ignore your skin every other day of the year.
If you are trying to become more disciplined about your skincare routine, start with the basics. If you can consistently do these things between your visits to our MedSpa, you’ll keep your skin in good shape.
Remember The Moisturizer
We can help you choose the right moisturizer for your skin. But, you’ve got to use it. Apply it generously right after getting out of the shower to lock in moisture. Don’t forget your neck! The reason so many of us end up with necks that look old before their time is that we forget to include them in our moisturizing routine.
Always wear sunscreen. It doesn’t matter how cloudy or overcast the day is. Those pesky UV rays fight through the dreariness and find your skin. No excuses. Just do it. If your moisturizer and makeup don’t include sunscreen, add another product into your morning routine. And, don’t forget your neck!
Wash Off The Day
At the end of every single day, wash your face and remove all of your makeup. Then apply moisturizing and rejuvenating moisturizers and eye serums. It may seem like an unnecessary extra step, but the skin around your eyes deserves special treatment. It is thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of your face. Treat it well. If you aren’t sure what to use, ask us. We’ll recommend the perfect nighttime eye treatment for you.
Tone it up
A good toner is an excellent way to balance the pH of your skin. Use a toner in the morning and at night before you moisturize. Everything we put our skin throughout the day can throw our pH out of balance, resulting in extra dry or oily skin. Adding toner to your skincare routine feels good and does your skin good.
Eat your greens. Leafy green vegetables are packed full of antioxidants which can help keep your skin glowing and free of blemishes. Going green includes adding colorful vegetables like carrots into your diet too. They’re filled with phytonutrients that can reduce the damage done to your skin by free radicals. The lycopene and beta carotene may even protect your skin from sun damage.
Leave It Alone
If you are prone to blemishes and breakouts, it can be very tempting to squeeze, pop, and otherwise pick at those blemishes. Don’t do it. Leave them alone and keep your hands off of your face. Your hands pick up dirt and bacteria that you don’t want anywhere near those blemishes. And they will go away faster if you leave them alone.
Not all products are great for all skin types. Choose carefully. If you aren’t sure which products are best for you, ask our professional MedSpa staff. They’re here to help. So, next time you’re here don’t leave without stocking up on everything you need for daily skincare. Keep your skin feeling as great as it does when you leave us.
